More Functionality of deepl.com/write
In this post, I wanted to follow up with some more functionalities of deepl.com/write.
If you didn’t read the original blog post on deepl.com/write, you can find it HERE.
(I encourage you to read it before reading this post!)
Note: You can decide to use or not use these functions in class. (They work for all languages.) I simply want to make you aware of them. Also be aware that these functions work better with more text and not one simple sentence. (See screenshots below for examples.)
“Show Changes” Function
You can click on the row of 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner and turn on “Show changes”. This function shows you the changes, instead of simply showing you the grammatically correct sentence. (Compare to the original screenshot below this one.)
Style and Tone Function
You can change the the style and the tone of the text. (You can only set one style or one tone at a time. You cannot set both a style and tone together.) Here is the screenshot of the options:
Style: simple, business, academic, casual
Tone: enthusiastic, friendly, confident, diplomatic
- Important Note: The title/description is above the corresponding screenshot. For example, “Original text, no tone or style set” corresponds to the screenshot directly below it.
Original Text, no tone or style selected
Original Text, Business style selected
Original Text, Academic style selected
Original Text, Enthusiastic tone selected
Those are just some of the examples of the options for style and tone.
Again, I have the same questions as I did in the original post. Also, if you have any insight into how these functions can be beneficial in class for language acquisition or how you use them, please let me know. Thank you!
P.S. Is this the Future? What are you thoughts on this? Are language teachers going to become obsolete in the future? Thoughts?
